Cat & Olive Branch
Birdbath

26 x 26 x 22.5"

Picture
If the top of the birdbath were hung vertically like a plaque the reposing cat would look like a cat leaping for its prey.  But she is touching the olive branch, slumbering, while her other paw curls in pleasure.  Living birds complete the image.

The water cavity is a triangle with edges hooking round clockwise and walls going from corner to corner with a steep to shallow pitch.  Thus the waterline (a smaller triangle) is canted in relation to it, once again clockwise.  The visual movement of the cat is counter-clockwise so the eye winds up either way resting on the olive branch.
